An antique engraved gold and garnet ring, a rare treasure from the 1800's. The ring is set with two round faceted garnets, a central oval faceted garnet and four split pearls. The setting features gold detailing and ornate scroll work, the band is engraved all the way around.
Gemstones: The round faceted garnets are approximately 4mm, one is a pink-purple, the other is a deep red. The oval faceted garnet in the centre measures 7mm x 5mm and is pink-purple.
Hallmarks and measurements: The shank on the inside has both a 15 and 625 stamps denoting 15 carat gold. There is an x date letter, partially erased. The ring is from the 1800's it is not possible to ascertain exactly the year. The city assay mark is Birmingham.
Condition: This ring shows evidence of it's very old age, one of the split pearls has been replaced and is sunken in it's setting. The ring is delicate. One part of the scrolls on the setting is missing.
Additional Information: The ring will be shipped in a velvet ring box, with a jewellery report included.
Size: The ring is a U.S size 7 3/4 or a European P 1/2. The ring can be re-sized.
